The Climatebull (クライメートブル) について

The Climatebull (クライメートブル)とは?

"The Climatebull was a website that attempted to clarify some of the contradicting information that was floating about back in 2011 when it was launched. Over time it has evolved in a fascinating history of the world’s climate and its affect on human society—as well as how human society affects climate through GHGs, politics, economics, and common sense. Currently it is a platform for more in depth information about the short form videos videos that appear on the Studios page of this web site.
The topics featured include climate science, climate and economics, climate and politics, and commentary on how we humans can adjust our dangerous course of climate myopia—as well as few satirical jabs at the absurdity of the human condition. Humor is a strong component of how we present information on The Climatebull and throughout the website. It is that humorous backing that led us to name the web site The Climatebull. A bull is not known for it's gentle nature. This is an acknowledgement that to make meaningful change on climate policy, polite discourse has little chance of achieving anything. Science was, and still is, marginalized by the media and the political structure—particularly in the US. Hard-nosed satirical jabs, on the other hand, always elicit responses from the political structure—though the responses may be hidden responses. As well, there was, and still is, a lot of Bull***t about the changing climate and I figured turnabout was fair play. The website was formed to cut through the nonsense and I figured the name The Climatebull was fitting."

The same videos on The Climatebull are on the Canopy Studios Page. What’s so interesting about the Climatebull?

The Climatebull is history. Just like “The Dialogues of Sancho and Quixote” is history. Beginning in 2011, The Climatebull began delivering “Insights on our Changing Climate”. The insights are both pure information as well as explanations of the societal response to the changing climate.
From propaganda, to apathy, and everything in between, The Climatebull is a running dialogue of how it was and how the world has changed—or maybe how it has not changed so much—and more importantly: Why has the debate stalled. A huge proportion of the reports could have been written today—that is the reason we picked some of them to make our new Short Form Videos. The videos have context in the past and that link is in The Climatebull.

What about the scientific questions that remain?

The science surrounding Global Warming was pretty much clear by 1997. If that is true, you might ask, it begs the question, “Well why is Climate Change still debated?” The Climatebull explains that question of scientific debate very clearly—because The Climatebull is history.
You will be amused, and in some cases astounded, at how even though a doubt is thoroughly obliterated, or an insight is delineated, somehow items appears again—a few years later— stating supposedly valid points. Why would this happen, you might ask? Climate change is a sociological issue—not a scientific debate. It has been that way for decades.

For those of you totally geeked out over the recent history of climate change

For those of you totally geeked out over the recent history of climate change as a sociological issue, you might also review “The Dialogues of Sancho and Quixote —Mythical Debates on Global Warming 1997-2010.” The book is made up of posts from the various Newsgroups, like, Sci.Environment, Talk. Environment, and so forth. The Newsgroups (Bulletin Boards—as they were called back then) were mostly unmoderated and highly focused on their topics. Until greed saw them as a way to advertise products. By 2010, the newsgroups were useless. And The Climatebull was born.
「サンチョとキホーテの対話(The Dialogues of Sancho and Quixote)」が記録しているのは、1997年から2010年。
